Skilled Worker Visa

Starting from January 1, 2021, the UK introduced a new Points-Based System (PBS) for immigration management. Breaking away from past practices, the Skilled Worker Visa is now accessible to individuals of all ethnic backgrounds (except British and Irish) who receive a job offer for an eligible skilled position in the UK from a sponsor endorsed by the Home Office. Consequently, the UK has broadened opportunities for individuals to work for up to five years and potentially obtain Permanent Residence (ILR) status. In essence, this visa category grants full-time work rights through a streamlined application process.

With a Skilled Worker visa, you have the opportunity to...

  • Obtain the visa within a brief timeframe.

The process for obtaining a UK Skilled Worker Visa typically takes around three months after securing approval from a UK Home Office endorsed employer. Generally, you can expect to receive a decision on your visa application from the UK Home Office within three weeks. This processing timeframe is notably efficient when compared to procedures in other countries.

  • Reside, labor, and establish roots in the United Kingdom.

After arriving in the United Kingdom as a skilled worker, you will possess the full rights to engage in both full-time and part-time employment. Upon completing five years in this skilled worker status, you become eligible to apply for ILR (Indefinite Leave to Remain), granting you permanent residence. Therefore, if you're considering relocating abroad for settlement, this visa category is highly recommended.

  • Involve your spouse in the benefits of open work and educational opportunities.

With the Skilled Worker Visa, the UK permits you to bring your spouse along, enabling them to provide emotional and financial support as they also gain the right to work. Additionally, should they prefer to pursue studies instead of employment, this option is available to them. Ultimately, facing the challenges of advancing one's career is made easier with a supportive partner by your side.

  • Reside with your children while enjoying complimentary access to education and transportation services.

Your children can join you on your journey in the UK, enjoying the advantage of receiving free British education up to high school, paving the way for a brighter future.

  • Qualify for indefinite leave to remain (ILR) following a period of five years.

To ensure a stable career path, it's crucial to have fundamental rights in our place of residence. Fortunately, the United Kingdom offers settlement rights to skilled workers.
